96 Mercury Mystique - with power door locks.
Door lock switches do not work. The Ford shop manual tells to test the relay but by searching and searching the troubleshooting area of this web site, I have determined the remote model acts as the relay. The wiring does not match that stated with the troubleshooting advice. I did however determine by the diagrams for the electronic door lock control (black connector) (pin 26, o/w, "power supply hot at all times") has .06 volts running from it rather than 12 volts. I have tried to find a fault by tracing the wires but they disappear under the seats and change colours making it impossible to properly trace. I did find however a joint where two other wires have been connected to the same wire which runs to two other white relays. I find if I apply 12 volt jumper wire, the locks work as they did before.
Is jumping a 12 volt supply from #25 fuse to the same connection going to cause me more grief or solve my problem?
Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.
