A few years ago I had to replace my magnacores because of carbon tracking and it caused hesitation at startup I then switched to motorcraft and I didn't have the problem. I since switch back to magnecores during a slight tuneup and the hesitation is coming back. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

I just replaced my plugs (and wires), and I did some research here. The prevailing thought on this site, from what I could find, is that Motorcraft/ Autolite double plat plugs are the best for our cars. Other brands can cause problems.

I had the same problem on my Zetec recently. About a year ago I replaced the plugs and wires (Autolite Double Plats & el cheapo Bosch wires) had this problem about 3 months after. I pulled the plugs and scraped off the carbon tracks and put some Di-electric type waterproofing gel on the plugs. Ran perfect til' 2 weeks ago, the same little misfire hesitation showed up again. Pulled the plugs and the gel had dried up, carbon tracks on plugs again. Cleaned dried stuff off, scraped carbon off, regooped waterproofing di-electric into plug wire boots. Its purrin' again.

Where do I find this Di-electric type waterproofing gel?
