I have. A few times. I brought my car to have a stud replaced and my mechanic broke another. I replaced all the nuts in case they were causing failure of the studs. (I also retorque the wheel nuts every so often, I'm a bit paranoid of having loose wheel nuts after an unfortunate event)

Are you having problems with the wheel stud on your car?

Eric..

I just went through this with my dealer too. I took it back to them to have them do them so I could get them off and they did it again. I ended up having to go to my regular tire guys to get it done right. Not sure who the heck they think will be able to get the tires off when they put them on so tight. I actually bent my tools in trying to get them off. I was fortunate enough though to not break any studs.

I bent my tire iron too after a dealer torque down. Sadly this is when I bulged the disc in my lower back as well. Not sure if they tighten the bolts like they do to avoid any legal liability for the wheel falling off or not.

I have never had this issue before so I have no idea why they do that. Especially when they have been asked not too. Also, the settings that I use are within the settings for the car so there would be no liability issues. I just thikn they don't pay attention to the setting and just tighten them to whatever it happens to be.
