Does anyone know what the limit of the stock block and internals? I am more interested in what the stock crank and the block can handle. I have already swapped my pistons and rods for forged pieces. But If we can get a post on all of the parts, it may be beneficial to others.

A stock block can do 300whp with 110+ octane racing gas and a huge turbo and proper tuning. Only a few Focus Zetecs have hit this number though. The rods and pistons are real weak but if detonation is kept under control some say the internals could do 400whp.
Some have done 250whp regularly on stock gas, but again you need a properly sized turbo and intercooler. The weak link, from what I hear are the main caps, but even those have done 300whp.

just curious what cams you have and what compression are you running at with those pistons?

i've always been told the 2.0 zetecs are good for 230bhp at the flywheel, beyond that they would need upgraded internals.
the silvertop zetec is a bit stronger in the bottom end than the blacktop.
ideally if your over 200bhp at flywheel towards 230 it should have upgraded conrod bolts, they are a weak point. apparently they can be changed with the engine in the car by removing the sump but i spoke to a tuner about doing them on mine and he didnt think it would be very easy

i don't think thats very accurate, there are guys running 200hp at the wheels daily so there is no way they would only last til about 200 at the flywheel.

I didn't have the block shaved or anything. Assuming the head isn't shaved (keeps the combustion chambers stock in size) the pistons in my ride are designed to deliver 7.8 to 1 compression. Lower compressions are better for turbo's.

Comp stage 2's for the focus. The oil pan can be dropped much easier if you take the bolts out of the front and rear motor mounts and remove the passenger side mount.. This lets you pull the engine up high enough for the oil pan to clear the cross member. I rebuilt the engine in my car twice before I built an engine and swapped it for my old one.

I don't believe so...I think that was stock block not bottom end.
Also why the drop in compression if you're running nitrous? Are you planning on a turbo install?
