Thanks everyone for the quick response.

My interest in the Vortech is twofold: initial cost and ease of installation. It sounds like the cost issue is a pay me now or pay me later thing. The SC is still easier to install though... thanks again

I liked the supercharger, who needs a ton of torque down low in our platform anyways? The vortech rapes on the contour. Makes the tour a badass highway runner.

I don't know if the install thing is necessarily true. I've heard getting that shaft on is a huge pain in the ass. Putting a turbo on would require pulling and putting new headers on and then it's all plumming. Not that much more difficult.

Haven't all the issues been resolved? And remember for those of us who need a CARB number to pass SMOG this Vortech is all we have to dream about for FI.

Issue #1: Resolved by looping the oil line over the top so the S/C has oil upon start up.

Issue #2: Jackshaft has now been fixed properly, I know they went through several iterations before the KnuKoncpetz fix and then they pulled the system until they re-rengineered a better shaft.

I've been in a S/C'd SVT and that thing pulled hard. Was a blast at higher RPM's and traction was not in issue at low RPM's.

It is sold as a "tuner" kit.
Any Vortech distributor can sell it though since it's not a "complete" kit most do not list it.
