OP chavezx2 CEG\'er C Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 78	im going to be installing an exhaust system on my 99 SE in the near future but i had a few questions before i get it done. i was wondering what if any benefit i would get from going with a dual setup rather than a single. ive done a little bit of research on the subjet but i havent found anything conslusive. it will cost more to do a dual set up but is the cost worth the gain? will i get just as much power out of a solid single exhaust set up? all comments are welcome but what i would like to stress is im not going for looks im going for functionality (if thats a word). i dont want what will look good i want whats going to perform well. thanks again for any info on the matter Luis

They're cheap as hell (cheaper than a fabbed up exhaust or one from any of the main providers) B. It's a great upgrade for us non-SVT guys. C. Extremely functional-you bolt the sucker right in place if you have a duratec engine. All you need is a hanger for the passenger's side. IMO, go for an SVT exhaust (it's SS, so will last you forever). If you want something else, stick with Trubendz. ContourGuy9817 Veteran CEG\'er C Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 610 Indianapolis, IN	i agree i have owned both the svt exaust and the trubendz, the svt exaust was had for 20 dollars and made my zetec sound real good, on a duratech itll sound even better, i now have my cougar with a trubendz system i got it for 340 to my door, quite similar to what would go on your contour, and every day of the week i am complimented on it. either one of these you choose will have good results. OP chavezx2 CEG\'er C Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 78	thanks for the info guys. is the dual exhaust from the svt system going to net me better gains then say a custom cat back with an aftermarket muffler? id like to know if there is a reason other than looks to get a dual setup. the svt system seems like a good bet but im in cali and there arnt alot of people on the board who want to ship it(not to mention the cost of shipping $$$). thanks again Luis

But as everyone has said before...get SVT exhaust if you can just because it is going to be your cheapest route. If you can get it around you, then go to www.trubendz.com they have a nice assortment. 2.5" w/ borla or magnaflow muffler will suit you well. the 3" is more thna you need right now...unless you do a 3L upgrade and a turbo or something. And same thing for True-dual exhaust...it really isn't needed until you do further EXTREME mods to your car. 2000 Contour SVT SF - #542 of 2150

I was under the impression that the true duals will yield 3-4 more horse over a trubendz setup.
