Ok, ive been thinkin about this after looking at a picture of the "dual" SVT exhaust. Doesnt a true dual exhaust entail having the two pipes separate at the headers....and not a ways down after the Cat?

Dual-exhaust is such a generalized term now. Some people think the Camaros have dual exhaust despite the fact it doesn't split until AFTER the huge muffler at the back. The SVTs have one pipe coming from the exhaust manifold that splits off into two mufflers. But yes, true dual exhaust (from muscle car days) would mean there are two separate pipes from the exhaust manifold. Just too expensive and big for modern cars. The Contour is so smashed together that there is almost no room for this.

That would be Steve Chang. He has a "True-Dual" custom exhaust, compared to the standard "Quasi-dual" exhaust.

svt's contours do not have true duals.

if you want true duals go look at a mustang. 2 pipes coming from the headers then straight back.

Or look at my mods. laugh The term should more or less be dual outlet exhaust... True-Duals are a whole different story. Headers are here, but waiting to be installed, so I'll see what that does to the overall performance. laugh Thanks, Micheal...
