did you replace yours with the 65mm Mustang unit? Just curious as to what mods exactly need to be made to the throttle cable to TB linkage to make this work. Both throttle nad cruise cables...

When you all talk about polish do you actually mean like metal polish or does a high grit sandpaper work. Will there be a difference in the two. I'm waiting for a throttle cable and to see if I destroyed my TPS to put the SVT TB on my cougar. I've already countersunk the screws chopped off half the bar, grinded and sanded everything. Hoping for good results. Thanks Patrick

I also knife-edged the butterfly plate but didn't decrease the over-all diameter of the piece. Also, bored the inside of the throttle body everywhere but the ridge where the plate seals. Polished with ultra-fine sand paper(800 grit)to get rid of any scratches from grinding. Cut off half of the bar and counter sunk the screws. Am very happy with this FREE mod. Also a friend told me that there is a very fine ceramic coating on the inside of the unit for scavenging larger unfiltered particles. Personally I have never heard of this. Does anyone else Know something I don't?

justSVT,
There's another post concerning this mod originally started by twOwheelin. There was a comment about the ceramic coating. From what I gathered, it's nothing to worry about, if it's even there.
How much did you take off the inside of the TB, of course excluding the ridge where the plate meets up?

Since there's getting to be a lot of interest in folks doing this mod, I feel compelled to put on the safety hat.

Please, please, please use blue lok-tite or some other method to make damned sure those screws don't come out.

JB Weld here bubba. laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh It takes a bit more heat to get them back out, but it's a lot easier than rebuilding a motor from a lost screw...

I went rather extreme. Have been driving daily with this mod and haven't noticed any idle problems(or any other for that matter). The only problem is I'm running a little rich because I gutted the pre-cats the same weekend(a very satisfying weekend of FREE mods). I know it is off topic, but does anyone know of a way to lean the A/F mixture?

get an aftermarket maf with a a/f optimizer... or an eec tuner... or a custom dyno tune... any of the three will offset those "free" mods you did... should run you close to $400 no matter which route you take...

i am offically a troll... so take my information and advice with a grain of salt.
