I have a 98 SVT
Well today i installed new spark plugs, cleaned out the upper and lower intakes, and put in new gaskets.

My problem is, after starting the car up, i found that the car is running super rough. It idles fine at 750rpm but it sounds like it is missing. I checked all the spark plug wires to see if the were in the right spot and to my knowledge they look correct.

I am not getting any codes or anything like that.

Also, i did adjust the screw to my secondaries so my secondaries are always partially open (could this be it??) but i dont feel that would cause the "Missing" sound like a cylinder is firing.

I reved the engine up manually and saw that my IMRC is kicking in fine when reved up.

I talked to a few guys that gave me some input but tryin to get more info that people might be able to give me. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Fix your plug wire routing order.
GAP your plugs when you get a chance (asap)

Save yourself some money and go with Autolite APP764 double plats, instead of the NGK's next time (NGK's are EXCELLENT PLUGS, but pricey, and for 95% of the performance and a 1/3 of the cost you can get the Autolites)

personal recommendation of returning the secondaries to normal operation.

Call me if you need further assistance..
(firing order chart:)
Just match the numbers together. Check to make sure they are fully seated. If you have to remove or install them, suggest not doing it on a warm engine (hot aluminum is SOFT and easy to strip..)

Ok, my engine is running great now. I had the 1 and 3 cylinders fudged up with the spark plug wires. Running so so good now.

I want to thank Beyondloaded, Pole, and Ray for calling me on my cell without hesitation and for listening to me freak out even though none of them really know me. Specially to Ray, for one, you hit the problem right on the nose and two, you are up at 1AM looking at a website! Go to sleep!

Owells, thanks again.
