Im Getting A Noise From The Passenger Side That Sounds More Like A Cracking Noise Than A Popping Noise. This Noise Is Not Only Occuring When I Turn But When I Give It Gas In A Straight Line. The Straight Line Cracking Noise Is Intermittent And Usually Only Occurs When Shifted Into 2nd Gear And Acceleration Is Already Occurring. Any Ideas On Whether This Is Outer Or Inner CV Noise???

Stock diff???

Put the car in the air and check the wheel bearings, strut bearings, and of course the axles.

Does it happen when you break hard with the transmission in neutral?

If it's the stock diff that you have, you may have chipped a tooth off the spider gear.

Yikes! So the differential will make this noise even when in neutral? I can get my car to make this noise even when braking in neutral. I have checked the axles, CV joints, bearings and other suspension parts. All those parts were fine. Could it be something in the body itself?

I just had a very similar sounding problem recently. It turned out to be a wheel bearing. Jack the car up and see if you can wiggle the wheel from top to bottom...if so, it's definitley a bad bearing.

1999 Silver Frost SVT #609 of 2760 Quaife, lightened SVT Flywheel, SPEC stage II clutch, removed resonator, k&n drop in - various other goodies too.
