I'll assume you are using the Alpine MRP-T220 to power the pioneers, correct? Basslink is a very nice upgrade from a standard factory that allows you to not loose much space. I wouldn't expect to "rattle the trunk" or neighborhood, but you should be happy with it if you just LOVE to HEAR the music.. and not just feel the music. I considered one a while back, but found that just doing a box with an amp and two tens would be both cheaper and a little more effective. So, no, defenetly not a sissy system.

sissy? It may be small but I applaud you for getting a high quality budget system rather than the low quality cheap crap that everyone else buys.

My thoughts were to power the rear door speakers with the Alpine MRP-T220...and the built-in amp on the Alpine HU to run the front door speakers.? And yes, I love to "hear" the music, that's why I went with not much power, compared to most. Plus I listen to lots of classical (another reason I decided to go with XM radio), so I wasn't too interested in trying to get a SUV rap vibe pumping from YoYo Ma.
My friend has a Mustang with the Mach 1000 system. It's too boomboom for my taste. I'm hoping for the expensive sound that you might hear in an upscale luxury car.
I'm going to let InstallerNet take over when everything comes in. I decided to not try doing it myself, afterall. Speakers and HU are my limits.
Didn't mean to get so windy

Thanks for the slow-clap. Just need to locate an installer for these InstallCards.

i almost got a basslink but as stryped said, i was able to add a sub and amp for less than the infinity. they do fill out the low end nicely, especially if you arent going for obnoxious.

I'd strongly recommend you flip that around and power your fronts with the amp and the rears with the deck (if you have the rears on at all... mine are not even connected). You should want most of the sound coming from in front of you. And having the rears louder than the front will absolutely destroy any chance of fully enjoying Yo Yo Ma or any other classical performance you may want to listen to.

Do it the other way around. You really can't even hear the rear speakers in our cars

Thanks for that advice. Believe it or don't, I was actually thinking about my setup this morning, wondering if I wasn't balancing out the power very well...sort of mimicking my friends Mach 1000 system, on a smaller scale. When he turns on the two 12" subs, it seems pretty unbalanced to me.

Systems are made to please YOU, so when you turn it on, only you'll know if it's sissy or not. We do applaud you for buying quality pieces.
