not really true most 87-93 stangs were mid 14's right off the showroom floor....easliy pull 14.6@97">14.6@97</a> mph bone stcok....i've owned several and all of them ran 14's stock....even a stock 94-95's are quite capable of running <a href="mailto:14.8@94 mph as well....now bump the timimg, and do a silencer/k&n,and a fresh tune and they are capable of mid to low 14's easily...
my 95 runs 14.1-14.2's all day long with only gears and a few bolt ons(long tube headers, exhaust,tb,maf, pullies)
ok i should have specified a 5speed car,but then again who in their right mind buys an auto mustang..didn't have to be an lx though,as gt's didn't weigh that much more, and were very capable of 14's stock with a 5speed..

I remember when a good bud of mine bought a 87 5.0 5 speed LX..which was also a speed density car(which were faster than the maf guys many times). He bought it because it was the strongest of the number of 5.0's he tested and it was by far the fastest(spanked the others). Went to the track..it ran 14.4@97 mph...stock...he was all excited. So he went and bought a pulley set for it, h-pipe, cai and was going to change the timing to 14 deg. Guess what...the pulley he bought...same one on the car already...the h-pipe...already one...the cai, already one...and the timing...already set to 14 deg. But he told a many it was stock before he knew it was modded. Unless someone bought the 5.0 Stang new...who knows what it could have?

As far as the 60' and stuff I can't help ya. Good job though!
An 89 Lx 5.0 should run right around 14.9, so your run is actually pretty good.

the old 5.0 motors are strong and the cars were lighter than the newer ones...14s aren't unrealistic.

Well first yes it ranged from 15.4's to 14.8. Yes ford rated the mustangs at 225 hp but they where actually putting out more numbers than that according to Rousch Racing. Yes it was so people can afford insurnace. I have been hearing that since mid 1985.
My brother driving a stock 1993 gt ran a 14.8. Pulleys and a H-pipe removed silencer and he ran a 14.3. SO they have alot of potential. IF you ask me i say go with a blower. Pro charge by the way. Can we say 12's all day
there is a nice built turbo lx on streetfire.net...racing with cobras, supra turbos etc...
