Is there any way to get the fuel shut off up to what the advertising card says (7000rpm instead of 6750) without buying a superchip or doing something else expensive?

I have the same problem, except mine cuts out at 6500 in first and 6750 in second and third. Haven't tried fourth or fifth, yet.

Actually the "card" states 6750rpm soft limiter (intermittent spark) before the 7000rpm fuel cut.

So nothing is "advertised wrong" except the 00's actually have intermittent spark at 6925rpm with a 7000 fuel cut.

That's all programmed into the PCM. No way to change it without a chip or custom PCM...

Yah, I noticed when driving the 2000 that the fuel shut off is higher. (Much less irritating.) I don't see why a car with max h.p. at 6600 would be programmed to cut off (or softly cut off) at 6750.

Sorry for my implied accusations of Ford false advertising. But on the "card" that "I" have, it "actually" says that "redline" is at 6750 and fuel shut-off is at 7000. It just so happened that I had a 2000 "card" lying around instead of a 1998. So don't be such a defensive "D1@Khead".

Hey if you thought that was rough...

Life must be tough for you... wink

BTW - I just "re-typed" what was printed on the "card" I have... (except the 00 part - that's in the "factory CD's")

I "only" emphasised those words to say that without saying that which I have just said above.
