I am thinking about putting dual 40 series (deltaflow) flowmasters on my SVT. Will it change the tone drastically or will it sound like my neighbor's riceboy civic? The local exhaust shop quoted me $320 for the flowmasters and 3" angle cut stainless tips + labor. Too expensive??? Suggestions???

For just putting two mufflers on the stock piping? That is way expensive.
Those flowmasters retail for $59 from Summit. I would go buy the mufflers, and tips, and get them to install them. It shouldn't cost more that $50-100 to do the install.

Thanks. I figured that the price was a little steep.

While you're at it, replace the factory resonator with a high-flow resonator, and have them redo the rear Y section.

I LOVE my flowmasters. I have 2 out the back,....but soon i will be changing to a single 40 series...single in/dual out....and the cardoctor pipes out the back. I will let you know how it sounds. (hopefully this weekend) BTW I think they give my 'tour a sort of Mustang like sound...at low rpm.

I have dual 40 series delta flows out back no main cat no res. IT IS LOUD. Sounds good when it is warmed up and not resonating. If you go with this system and dont like loud cars keep you cat and res if you like loud cars gut it all! BTW not ricey at all sound s pretty mean (enough to scar off most V8's)

My local shop said they wouldnt do it cause it would get to hot near the fuel lines. Did you all make heat sheilds for the passanger side muffler?

Go to a different muffler shop...I had to go to at least 3 places before I could find a guy that knew what he was doing to install my flows...All the others guys claimed that there was not enough room to fit them in...Just check out another place.
