I bought a new motor assembly but sunroof was still sticking and such I always throught the gear was the issue but the sunroof was not manufactured correctly. I removed the glass and the arms the allow the sunroof to go up and down were missaligned. Its just poor quality. There is a pin the hold the arms together and on track. I noticed on the other side of the pin there was suppose to be a e clip washer so nothing would come undone. The issue is though the pin is not long enough to stick out the other side to put a washer on it. You cannot just replace this pin as it is part of the whole arm. I watched the arm and sure enough when you would slide the roof back sometimes it would just start to pop off the track. Also this would cause the arm when your raising the sunroof to miss the hole in the track cover and just push the plastic track cover up instead. I took the arms off and using a dremel easily shaved about 1/4 a inch off the outsides of the arm so the pin could go through and a e clip washer be attached. I wish I had a digital camera to show you guys but I do not. My sunroof is now working perfect and is almost silent now. Just thought I would post case it helps anyone.
