I want to remove the intake resonator and I realized there is a sensor that attaches from the underneath. What is this sensor and what do I do with it? I plan on using 2.75 inch piping, or possibly "snorkle" tubing to replace the resonator.

Thanks. I'd buy the CTA intake, but I'm not planning on owning the car for very much longer, probably 2 or 3 months tops. How much louder was it when you took the resonator off?

Whatever I do, I want to be able to revert it back to stock for when I sell it. If I use Duct Tape to cover up the hole from the inside, would that work? If not, you guys have any suggestions?

If you're interested, I'll probably have my CTA for sale by next week. Drop me a PM.

Unless it's in the neighborhood of $50-$60 shipped, I don't want to put anymore money in a car I'm about to trade off.

I used the duct tape and it seemed to do pretty well. I think the next step will be removing the bottom half of the airbox and screwing the filter in. Anyone done this? How more dirty does the filter get?

I just went to a salvage yard and bought an intake from a ZX2 and fit it to my car for like $10 total and cut a hole into the muffler piece and set the <air temp sensor> in there. You might want to take out the white piece inside. Ill try to get a picture sometime soon of my setup.

Then you prolly don't want to buy a new one, since they are over $100. If you are going to sell the car soon, leave everything stock and don't alter or drill anything. Someone examining the car may think it is broken or not working, and want you to fix it before they buy it.

Leave it alone. If you're getting rid of it so soon then just leave it alone. I have my own way of moving that sensor but that is because I had a Focus ZX3 intake and I personally think that is a helluva lot better than the CTA one. I sold mine to ContourKEV when my mystique was totaled.... damn I still love that car. If you want my step by step then hit me up again. My advice is still to leave it alone.
