I was just trying to change the transaxle fluid for my '99 SE 2.5 5-speed, and could not find a dipstick! Shouldn't it be between the air filter and brake fluid resevoir? I could see the top of the transaxle, and there is a curved "cap" on the top of the housing where I would expect the dipstick to be. Anyone else run into this?

You have a 5-speed manual, correct?

only atx's have a dip stick
check the faq for instructions on how to change the mtx fluid
- 95 Mystique LS - Zetec/5spd
- 99 Contour SeVT Sport - Duratec/5spd

Thank's for the help; the Chilton's book I was using made no mention of the MTX not having a dipstick, and gave no instructions for changing the fluid of the MTX. I found the info in the FAQ; thanks again for the help.
