how motor mounts can cause a rough idle, I know they can but forgot what the specific reason was.

Because when you sell a car and keep the motor mounts, it will idle rough.

Or, is it that your "perfect" car is having a little trouble, already?

Maybe you should pick your "piece of junk" back up, and ditch the trouble-free cavy...


(motor mounts are shock absorbers.. they eliminate the engines movements when the twisting forces cause it to try to rock, etc. bad or missing motor mounts cause the car to vibrate because it is absorbing the movements of the engine into the frame.)

Actually nothing is wrong with my car, not one thing yet. It was a question for a take home test from auto repair school , I couldnt find the answer anywhere.

Correct alignment of engine mounts damps excessive engine vibrations in addition to everything else that alignment affects.

Proof of this was an experiment one of the forum troops performed on his vehicle...
