I drained and filled my MTX-75 tranny last weekend. I refilled with Redline MTL. I was surprised that the tranny took the full 3 quarts. The "How-to" led me to believe that it would only take 2.7 quarts. I realize that each of my quarts might have been a little light, but I am concerned. Did I over fill? Is that even possible? Should I continue to fill until new fluid comes back out?
BTW, after the Redline MTL worked in if shifts really nice. Feels nice and smooth, like "Butta". Much improved.

If you filled on a relatively level surface you should be ok. I also seemed to get the full three quarts in, but there was some spillage and whatnot that would probably add up to .3 quarts, plus my garage isn't perfectly level. I wouldn't worry too much.

That was what I was expecting, but the full 3 quarts went in. I had zero spillage, maybe a little left in the funnel... My concern is whether I need to add additional fluid, until it is full and does come back out the fill plug hole?
It was relatively level, not perfectly. If anything it sloped from front to back (rear being lower).

That's why it all went in fine without any spillage, overflow, etc... but anyway you're fine, no need to worry about it.

Makes sense. I hadn't thought of that, because it was approximately level. But what you say makes sense.
It's not overfilled right?

It's fill 'til it spills when LEVEL. If in doubt, get it level and remove the fill plug and allow any overage to spill out.
I usually can't get the whole 3 quarts in, but I have never had any trouble with nearly three quarts. I'm sure that I have been putting more than 2.7.

In my case, it took just over 2 quarts.....and I figured the 2.7 listed capacity was compensating for the amount left on my garage floor, and all over my hands and arms! It was my first transaxle fluid change, and I had a little trouble working the hand pump while lying on my back under the car

Revised MTX-75 transaxles only require 2.1 quarts.

So, which tours have the revised mtx-75?
