How many people here have put B&M Shifters in their Tours? Also, about how much does it cost (before I start ordering catalogs)?

I did mine the cheap way and just cut my shifter, took off the reverse lock out and slapped a Momo shift knob on it, can't tell the diffrence.
Ask David Z he thought I had one too laugh

I think the B&M is around $170 now, but I have one on my car and I love it!

It's all about balance.

Glad I caught this before JVT or Steve Bassen did eek ...try a search on it first...

Tons of people, including myself have done it with prices varying from $68.84 bucks (Damn it Journie), up to 170 and change.

Make it your first mod and you won't regret it.

No damage seen by the longer users ??? In the GAGT this can cause the atx to break-down. It leads to a lot of pressure within the trx... firmer shifts are good to a point.

Could you post a how-to on the install for this on an ATX? Pics too if possible....

For the record, I un-installed and sold my b&m. It really needs to be bent back towards the driver, instead of being straight. I didn't care for it.

I have one on my ATX and it hasn't caused any troubles. I've had it on there for like 30,000 miles too. Makes it so much easier to throw the car into gear with a shorter shifter. Been meaning to install a shifter similar to the little reverse do-hicky in the 360 w/ paddle shifter. That's mad crazee short, should make going from reverse to drive really fast when I do those J-turns on the highway to scare off tailgaters.

I've had mine for a little over a month now and love it. Fairly easy to install. I'll qualify that by saying if you know which end of a screwdriver is the business end you can do this. I paid $140 for mine.(CEG group buy) If your tall or like to lay your seat back into the backseat so you can look cool (cough ricer) it may give you trouble. I'm over 6 feet and it took some getting use to. Double-clutched for the first day or two because the throw was so short I didn't think I had it in gear. It feels great and I would recommend it. Will be auto-xing with it for the first time next weekend so we'll see what happens. And don't worry that double clutching problem goes away in a day or two. wink

Rice is just a matter of money. How fast do you wanna look!

Did you think of shimming the base plates front 2 bolts to give it a slightly rear tilt to it.

I personally love the feel of mine alot.
I thought the stock shifter wasn't bad either, but then again I was coming from an 89 Conquest TSI that the stock gear throws included:
to the gas pedal to your crotch to the radio to the console to the glove box. The far back of the glove box mind you. That shifter got cut (2") very soon after I bought it wink
