Just wanted to say thanks to all in a final post here. This is a wonderful site and the ardent support for the Contour and the SVT should make Ford take notice.
I traded the Tour today for a 20th Aniversiary Special Maxima. I was seriously close to a deal on an IS-300 but I figured if that's what I'm looking at I may as well keep the 'Tour. I guess the prospect of impending doom in my transmission or loss of oil pressure was a bit much. Also, I guess I'm a little tired of shifting for myself.
Anyway, thanks for the wonderful experience of sharing information about a serious sports sedan.

Damn nice car. My parents own an Infiniti I30t (2001). Basically the same. It is an excellent car for the money. My parents opted for the Infiniti because it offers more for about the same price and isn't as "unique" with its looks. Plus, the warranty is better (48 mo/60K mile!). Good luck with the new ride, and thanks for bein' part of the CEG!
