The pulley COULD have gotten worse, however a bad bearing would rumble like that. (like a whirring or buzzing at speed.
Also, the noise may be more prevalent upon turning one direction, and less prevalent when turning the opposite way.
If you want to make absolutely sure, jack up the suspect side (remember, NORMALLY a whirring on a LEFT turn is actually the right wheel, as weight transfers to that wheel) and see if you can wiggle the wheel/rim at ALL up and down.
