I got my Superchips from Lonestar Performance here in Dallas. Don't remember the price but it does wake up the SVT!! The installation was a snap. I have had it for almost 2 years now and have not had any probs at all.

At best you'd have a No-Start condition.
At worst???

Chris, email me please...got a question. It's a lighting thing which seems to be yours and my specialty! I have my chip in to KKM already. The cost for re-burn is $45. I didn't even try it with the code that was in there due to it coming from a 99 Cougar Duratec and I have a 98 Mystique Zetec...Zetecs Rock!! I'll give an update as well. I've got some more lighting pics to come; small mod for the dash lighting. Joh

With reference to the pinging ... the superchip typically adds more spark advance which will cause pinging under certain conditions ... especially with lower octane fuel. I typically run 92 - 94 octane (best I can buy) and notice a vey light pinging sy around 2500 to 3000 RMP in 3rd as I accelerate. Nothing dramatic or destructive .. more of an annoyance than anything else.
I agree with the comments about waking up an ATX. I has a Superchip in my previous car (Mark VIII 4.6 V8) and it seemed the superchip made the upshifts faster, more positive, and also made the transmission more eager to unlock the torque converter and downshift when passing.
ALL-in-all a quality product and wothwhile addition IMHO.

A superchip can be reprogrammed right? Might be buying one from an SVT owner. I have a Non-SVT (96 SE), V6. How much for reprogramming, any ideas? Thx.

Chris -
I think I might be a little slow, but where is exactly is the second picture on the Superchip how-to? That is on the inside of the car in the foot well, correct?
So why is there a bolt to remove under the hood? The cable goes all the way up there?
Thanks, Patrick

Thanks, Patrick The second picture shows the bottom of the computer and where it is held on (footwell of passenger.) The other picture shows the main wire connector that bolts directly to the computer. If you took the computer out of the car, there would be a decent size hole from the passenger compartment through the firewall.
