Breed bans are such [censored]. As a the owner of a goofy pit bull, I am sickened by these. Maybe if they ban pits in my community I can use this case as justification for suing the [censored] out of the bastards that take and kill my poor pup.

I'm too tired from work to think but my instincts already tell me that is garbage. Of course, if there is proof the pit bulls are used for dogfighting (fresh or recent wounds, and many of them) then it's time to take the dogs away from the owners.

They're about to do this in BC as well. Not just pit-bulls but doberman's and other vicious breeds as well. On one hand, I don't like it -- but on the other, 99% of those breeds are absolutely bred for violence as gaurd dogs and let loose in urban neighborhoods. Walking by a couple pit-bulls in my area scare the [censored] out of me and I'm not surprised it hasn't jumped over the fence to eat me. I've seen some video's too of how some of those handlers 'train' the dogs ...  extremely inhumane .. no wonder those dogs turn out the way they do.

This is not about banning fighting dogs. Dog fights are already illegal. This is what the ban affects -

Agreed. My neighbors labs is a scary mofo - it charged me yesterday - raised spine hair and all!
But being the dog lover I am, I just patted it and it calmed down
