Ever since I changed my t-belt, my 99 contour has started a hesitation problem. It only does it when it has half tank or less of gasoline. I make a u-turn or a sharp left turn hit the gas and the acts like it has no power. I feel that after the gas levels it goes, but doesn't do it with a full tank. Any input will help.

I think I know what is wrong....I have a 00 'tour with a Zetec a/t. I recently had a hesitation problem took it to a FORD dealer was told it was the MAP sensor got it replaced. Jumped in the car went to turn a left on to the street and the thing started to buck like hell and then almost died. Got it back to the dealer-of course they didn't believe my story so the service manager drove it with me in it.It would only do,the stalling bit, when making a decently left hand turn. They figured it out to be the fuel pump.I got it FREE!! Over $500 of labor and parts because they didn't fix it right the first time. Maybe this will help you out.

Check your fuel pump's sock filter.

Search for "dirty sock" or the likes to find GOBS of information.

Can be completely removed from the pump, as it has an internal filter, as well.

NOTHING to do with the MAF, the T-belt, or anything else..
