Well, my new BAT big brake kit rotors already have to be replaced. I've had them cut 4 times now, and they're pulsating again. So, I seem to remember hearing that certain SVT Contour's had 278 mm rotors, while different years had 280 mm rotors. The BAT catalog uses the sizes interchangeably. I'm guessing that either size will work, being so close, but I want to be sure. Anyone know which size (or better yet, what Ford part number or model and year of car) I need to replace them with? I'm going with Ford brakes--they're the only rotors I've had that lasted a long time.

if they are available, i'd check out Raybestos rotors. Better than Ford, they give very little trouble. The best affordable non-drilled rotor IMHO.

PS There seems to be some gouging in the US on these. Check prices.

Oops. I could have sworn I posted this in the brakes section. Anyway, I already have tried Raybestos. They warped much faster than my stock Ford rotors, which lasted about 2 years and 100,000 miles. The Raybestos lasted, at best, half that.

I'm sorry guys but from what I've heard people say about BAT with there brakes, I'll never buy there brakes from them. This new story is one of many that have me thinking. I was even told that someone bought some new rotors, out them on and they were warped! Bat would not exchange them!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that was me (or, maybe I'm not the only one)--see the "Brakes" forum.
