Ever since getting my car back together after cleaning the intake manifolds and replacing all the gaskets (LIM/UIM/Fuel Injectors) the car has started smoking visibly on tip-in. The smoke is grey, and doesn't smell like oil or antifreeze, so I assume the car is just running rich..
Before cleaning the intakes and replacing the gaskets it just always ran rich. The MAF is in decent shape and is clean, and I have new TPS/IAC/EGR/Intake Temp Sensor/Fuel Filter/Double Platinum Plugs. I did crack the LIM butterflys a little bit. New wires are next on my list of maintenance items. Other than the smoking, the car runs better than ever.
I've seen videos of Contours smoking at higher RPMs, but is smoking on tip-in normal?
[Edit - I should add that this is a 1995 with a V6, and that since cleaning the intake I haven't had any CELs.]
