basically I need some help. As you look at the engine side with the pulleys.. its the first on bottom right.. it sorta has a plate on the end of it with 3 bolts/studs in it.. well that plate is loose and I can wiggle it with my had... It makes a loud strange metal grinding type noise.. On my way home the other night the car made a very loud metal on metal slap over and over and then the car just dies.. the rpms went up and down and the car shut off.. I have tried to start the engine after it did shut down and that pulleys actually freezes up but the other pulleys still move.
My questions are.. what is that plate for and is it bolts that hold it on? I can turn the bolts by hand so im not sure if they actually screw into anything.. Can a pulley bearing go bad and has anyone actually fixed this themselfs? any input would be great at this point.. I really dont like riding the bike in the rain lol
thanks in advance
Tim

First off the V6 do not have timing belts...they have timing chains located under the timing cover. next the pully on the lover right side, if facing it directly, should be you A/C compressor pull and bracket....Power steering is on top, and Alternator is lower left, and water pump is on the other side of the engine top left.

Just replace the pully (possibly bad compressor) and be done with it.

Also, lose bolts on anything are bad, take your time and figure out where they go.
