hello all cegrs got a question for you all. How hard is it going to be if i just fix my trans (MTX-75 in a 96 SE)in sted of trying to buy a new one.The trans needs the shift fork for 3rd-4th gear is broken and the car is stuck in 4th gear. Iwould like to buy a 99 cougar trans but there not cheep so how much will it be to fix the one i have?

If it is only your shift fork that is broken, it would be cheaper to just replace the broken shift fork. Replacing a shift fork requires the transmission to be removed, which is not an easy job. I would remove the transmission and fix the broken shift fork. How did you break it?
