Greetings all:
Below is a link to pictures of my project, it involves a MTX75 from a 98 Contour. To continue I need one measurement of how far the surface of the crank that the flywheel bolts up to is from the plane of where the Transmission mounts to (without the shield for good measurement numbers). Another way to measure this would be how much space is there between the ring gear on the flywheel and where the transmission mounts to the block. I just need to determine if I have to adjust the crank at all (or use a spacer) to put the flywheel in the right place.
Pictured is a 1996 Taurus SHO that I am attempting to fit this MTX75 up to. Once I get fitment (and axles) worked out I will pull it back apart and will do the Quaife or Torsen treatment to the MTX. Anyone have good places to get either diff from? Opinions on which to go with for a heavy car like the Tortoise with 235 hp as a starting point? Pictured is the stock Contour clutch and flywheel but I will probably upgrade all of that at the same time I do the diff.
