I am looking into doing a full 3L swap or a hybrid.

My main consern is final HP numbers and reliabilty.
My coworkers dad is an expert mechanic that mantains a 800 HP Sanoma Drag truck but i am just not sure if i should go full 3L route or do a hybrid. Also, if i do go full 3.0L and i buy new heads to bump the stock compression ratio, is that pretty much doing the same thing as using stock 2.5L heads and PnP'ing them?

Cut 3L valves into the 2.5 heads, then do a PnP, and that's kinda like having full 3L heads, except you'll have split port w/ cam driven water pump (something not avaliable with 3L heads), as opposed to oval port.

I'm about 101% sure that you can have a cam driven WP w/ 3L heads.... unless you specifically meant split port 3L heads w/ cam driven WP- in which case, nevermind....

01+ oval port heads have the cam driven water pump.
