Whats up guys- I've recently noticed a strange noise coming from the drivers side rear end near my wheel- When i turn to the right it makes a high pitched sort of squealing sound with the rotation of the tire-- Almost sounds like a bearing is wheeling in circles- I really have no idea what the noise would be, i'll try to think of a better way to describe it later--- on a further note, the noise goes away when braking (going straight, when turning, everything) --- any suggestions or ideas? TIA

Blake

Wheel bearing maybe.... Did ya get under there and take a peek? Does it go away with braking?

I'd also suggest that it is a bearing that is failing.

That squeeling is probably your brake pads on the affected side getting eaten prematurely.

the squeaking sound definetly goes away when i brake-- The brake pad will make noise when it's not in use? i wouldn't think it would?

I had a similar sound on the front driver side and under semi-similar circumstances when I did not properly secure the retaining clip on a brake change. The caliper would expand enough for the caliper to hit the inside of the rim when braking...just a thought..
