As an interesting project to do with my father, I was thinking of modifying my SVT's hood for forced air. My father was suggesting a NACA air duct, but I don't know where there would be enough clearance under the hood. I don't want to have to resort to oversized hood scoops either. Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone actually done this?

There is enough clearence, and I have a NACA scoop, but I have decided to put it in the fender. That way I don't have to worry about mating surfaces and it gives more room.

Here is a pic of the installed position if I was going to put it on the hood. And, YES, it will be cut I don't have any pictures of it where it might go, on the fender. Just imagine it looking at the front, in the 1:30 position. (45 degrees to the right.)

OK .. I'm not an aerodynamicist (sp) just a 'boomer with a long memory. Another possible solution is to build an airbox behind the air dam and feed it from the fog lights. Then run a duct from the box to the MAF sensor ... similar to some 60's Trans Am cars.
Another possibility is a reversed hood scoop drawing air from the base of the windshield ala the late 60's early 70's 'cowl induction' set-up from GM.
Either way it would be necessary to figure out how to keep water out (or provide a drain) and it probably would be best to put one of those bypass valves in-line just in case.

This is what we need... Maybe not the same looking scoops, but the setup is fantastic. I had sent this company an email a while ago with no response, so I called them today.. I had to leave a message. I wonder if they are going to call me. Please, if you are interested in a ram air hood, these are the guys you want to speak to. I have had products from them in the past, and it is high quality. Give them a call at 1-800-488-6057 or send an email http://www.cervinis.com/form.html and tell them we would like a hood fabricated for Contour.org. www.cervinis.com
