well...it's over...it's really over...i've had to come to terms with the fact that it was time to replace the mystique...she's gone, gone for good...it was a good car while i had it, but last tuesday was it's final breathe...but i'm glad to say that i've replaced it. and keep in mind that i'm only 18, so i didnt have a whole lot of money to play with here, so this is what i picked up... There is no rust anywhere, it's an 87, and it's mint. i picked i up for a measley $1500, and it on the way to getting on the road next week...but it sucks that i had to replace the green machine. it was a great car...

Oh man!!! What a step down! Sorry you couldn't have had more money to play with! Well, being only 18 sucks that way, but i went from a POS 1981 Ford Fairmont in high school (which i sold for 100 bucks the week after i got my tour ), to the tour, which i bought right after i graduated in 2002. Well, good luck with the new ride!

That does look like it is mint condition!! Looks good. But hey being 18 I know how the budget can be kinda tight.....come to think about it.....i'm a little/lot over 18 now and the budget is STILL kinda tight.....it is that dang George Bush again.....

Just wondering here if you have a job? Cause you said your 18 and you dont have a lot of cash. I'm 18 to and and just spent over $10,000 on a new car few weeks ago.
Just get a bank loan, then make payments, dont have to worry about any car repairs for a while cause new ones have warrantys.
Yours still looks okay though.

haha ... the car I "downgraded to" from the Contour at age 18 was a '95 Probe GT for $3500 ... needless to say I could have had a BMW for what parts cost for that car ...

MY GOSH..
You're still here?
What ties do you have? the "POS" Contour you hated is gone, and no family here, so I am confused..
Can't the guy be proud of what he got, instead of having you and your "everything I touch i better" attitude raining on his parade? (blah blah blah.. I have 10,000 dollars.. blah blah blah.. your is ok...
Very condescending, I thought. You may have that ability, but he obviously didn't, so let him enjoy what he has!
I say: MINT ride, my man.. couldn't have found a better example for that price!

I don't think so. being 18, lots of trunk/cargo/friend space is a plus. it looks like it's in good condition, so depending on how it runs, that's probably a better choice for someone his age and in his financial position. big ol' truck probably faster than his stique anyway. throw some subs and an air freshener in there and he's got everything at his local highschool beat...
