I know the SVT engine can be swapped into the regular contour...
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Yes, anything can be swapped from an SVT to a regular V6... except for the PCM, I think.

Ok thanks. Anyone else? I told myself that I was just going to use this as a daily driver, but I always get the itch to go faster.

The speed isn't that musch different. At least not in comparision to the work required. Perhaps going Mustang would suit your speed need.

Ever driven an SVT, Coatsy?
The speed is MUCH different.
The pull from 60 on is INSANELY different. Granted, not a difference of 4 seconds in the 1320, but on the freeways and corners.. MUCH different.

I certainly wouldnt go "Mustang" if I was looking for speed. I have a WS6 for that... I would just like to get a lil bump out of what it has. Just something thats fun to do, open it up a lil.
How different are the SVT's vs the Standard V6's? I would say an "insane" difference would be a couple of seconds in the 1/4 mile. Is that the case?
Thanks for info

I've only had experience with installing an SVT Throttle Body on my car, but the Upper Intake Manifold is a direct swap. The Lower Intake Manifold has a bit more work to it because of the different fuel rail designs between model years. There's adequate information at SPMotorsports.com (it's been a while, but I remember them selling a kit for the SVT LIM with fuel rail and injectors). In my opinion (take it as you wish ) I'd swap a 3 liter engine into my car before I'd swap the internals (or all) of an SVT 2.5L Duratec.

I agree with Pre98 on his opinion.
However, also remember this:
This platform was never designed for 1/4 mile times. Severely traction limited, and "a couple of seconds" is the difference between a mildly modified SVT and a turbo'd 3L, as of now.. 400+ horses, makes 2 seconds.. (traction....)
freeway and handling is where this platform is at.. remember that.

True words Ray... Freeway and handling is what counts. I am not looking for the 400+hp that I already have in my other car. I am just wanting to toy with the car a lil and wondered if I swapped some of the parts if I would see any improvements... I am quite surprised how easy this car is to drive. Well anymore ideas appreciated... Thanks
