Rev limiter is not removed (if your's is let me know as they couldn't find it earlier in several attempts) Oh yeah. You can all thank me for donating my PCM to them for several custom sessions (5) to make a better chip. However if they used any of it is beyond me? You'd think they would though... BTW - 92 octane or better!!! NO cheap quality premium either! This is not an option, but a MUST!

Oh by the way I had one our towns local police officers clock me on a top speed run and I have discovered that my car is speed limited but farther up than other SE's. At what the officer said was around 122. But the speedo was reading above 125. I've had my '97 SE MTX to just under 130 mph, according to the speedo. I have several performance mods: KKM, Superchip (which is not presently in due to high gas prices), no resonator, and a high-performance muffler. I don't know what those things owuld have on the the top speed of the car. According to the first review of a '95 Contour SE MTX in Car & Driver, Ford told them that without a speed governor, the car would top out at 138 mph. This seems about right given the stock power numbers and weight, when compared to similar cars without limiters (like the second gen Probe GT, etc.).

I'm not sure about much right now. All I want is to remove the speed limiter and GO! I am trying for a top speed Contour. Drag racing is fun and so is autocross but I like pure top speed. Although cops don't...i wonder why.....

Weird....I was going to buy a chip from someone here on the Forum until they found out that I had a 2000 SVT...They e-mailed me back and claimed I had to haver the whole ECU "reproggrammed". Is that what is being revferred to here as a "piggyback" install at the Chip factory? If that's the case, then screw it, I don't think it's worth it....I don't have "down time' available to have my ride out of commision for a few weks. Any other advice?

BAT's custom PCM will be for 96+ only, they don't intend to cater us EEC-IV owners (95).
I don't know that we'll ever see it, though.

Reprogramming the entire PCM??? My god....How much would that run to re-burn the entire computer system?

NO one reprograms the PCM (well besides FORD - but that doesn't count) I'm all for a custom PCM. However without a complete code break down (the hardest part!), software, dyno, and tuning equipment it won't do a lot of good. But with them! Best HP gains outside of forced induction IMO...
