Its not even close to worth it.....

For $1500 you get an engine, but you still need;
the trans,
ECU,
exhaust header,
engine & trans mounts,
shifter assembly,
have to modify the engine bay to make it fit,
and either have to pay somebody to put it all together or do it yourself.

Minimum another $1000 if you do it all youself.
Looking at $2000 plus for somebody else.

Ot trade in the 4 cylinder, take the $1500+ in cash and get a fully paid for Duratec Contour.
Or get a used SVT Focus or (even better) SVT Contour, and either would be half paid for.

For less than $1500 you can put a stock Zetec past the SVT Zetec #'s.

Sleeperz's right, not even worth it.

There's a Zetec Cougar guy on our forums with stage 2 intake cam with adjustible gear, race header, exhaust, and intake doing 136whp & 140tq, which is just 10hp shy of stock SVTF numbers but he's got more TQ. His engine is stock otherwise, but with a better clutch, but that won't make more hp on the dyno. I bet you he didn't spend much more than $1000 on the engine mods.

Imagine if the Focus Zetec was a direct bolt on. It could have worked wonders.

Yea i knew it wasn't worth it primarily because 170 hp isn't going to do you much good on the heavier car when you could drop in a CSVT engine theoretically. I just felt like posting it, i miss the zetec performance forum
