Well, when my car was getting painted I started with upselling myself into a Colorado (nice, but affirmed my desire for cars), then into a new Grand Prix ( roomy and sounded fast, Huge sporty tach) THEN

they slam me into this 94 cavalier with over 200Kms on the clock and they had to give it to me uncleaned for the duration of a week!!!

Perhaps, some of You have been well treated

This isn't about the car I was given, but about the car I gave back. A couple weeks after I bought my SVT, it sat in the repair shop for three weeks while the tranny was rebuilt and much of the front suspension was replaced. I got a light tan Taurus. I don't know if it was coincidence or the color of the car, but the birds loved that thing. Over the course of the few weeks, it became literally covered in bird doodoo. It was hilarious seeing the expressions I got when I took it back.

The worst was a Seabring Convertible that had alarm issues, the alarm suddenly started going off while I was driving down the street - and never stoped for an hour. Took it back with the alarm still screaming.

I had a 2000 Taurus that looked as if it had been rolled over when a Ford dealer took my SVT for the day to replace the rear control arms they bent.

I also had a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica when my Miata went to the shop, but the rental company I used does business for my company so they upsized the car at no expense.....they upsized it alot.

Damn, I drive what some of you would consider a rental car as my daily driver.

I haven't had any unusual loaners, though. Never had a loaner with this one because nothing's gone wrong that's required it to go to the shop yet. When I had the Contour, I got a silver loaner Taurus and couldn't stand how big it was at the time (imagine that, driving a minivan now). I also had a loaner Focus hatch, and I thought it was a cool little car. I liked how you could play the radio without having the keys in the ignition, but the lack of power anything or good cupholders (but it had foglights!) was a turn off. If I got one, it'd have to be better equipped.

I hate to say it but my worst rental car was a red Ford Contour 4 door. I rented one for a day in florida to get from the airport to the cruise line port. Pretty sure it was a 4 banger. God i hope it was a 4 banger, if not then its really sad. That thing had no nuts and on the highway i thought it was gonna blow up when i hit 65mph. It was about 5 years ago, and i told my fiance that i would never,, ever buy a ford contour. Well, i know own a T-red svt

Worst loaner ever was when my Parents Buick was in the shop, we got a 'Vette, a Che-vette. Wagon no less. Talk about a CRAPPY car!! I can remember going outside on my way to work & I couldn't even bring myself to look at it as I drove away in my RX-3. Gawd, I hated that sardine can!

Best ever was recently, when one of the fleet trucks got wrecked. Insurance paid for a rental, so I ordered a pickup from the local rental yard. None left. I asked for an econo-box (they usually have Neons). No dice.

Me: "What do you have available?"

Agent: "How about a Sirrus?"

Me: "Nah, not familliar with those."

Agent: "All we have left is a Jaguar X-type."

Me: "Darn. Will you give it to me at the compact rate?"

Agent: "Sure."

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
