hondas suck.. thats my opinion.. unless they have tons of money put into them and john force driving them, the svt should eat it and then crap it out.. i have a dumb friend who has a 5spd civic, not the si but he had head work done, new pistons, rods, blower, clutch, flywheel, header (those idiots say headers when there is only one), air filter (intake), ignition, fuel system.. and he only sees my brake lights when i spray.. i spent around $500 and he spent well over 5 grand...
99 svt contour -its fast. period. 91 mustang gt -its faster. period. 86 Buick Grand National - its way faster, double period!

I seem to recall that Car & Driver got a 0-60 mph time for the new Si of about 7.1 seconds. That's a few tenths slower than they got for the E1 SVT (6.9 seconds), but .1 seconds faster than the E0 SVT (7.2 seconds), and .3 seconds quicker than they got for the '95 SE MTX (7.4 seconds).

I've raced two SI's in my E0 SVT... those cars ARE quick... for being lighter and having less power... in both races.. 1st to 3rd gear, dead even... but once third opened up... fuget about it, I took them... the SI's I raced were stock.. (minus the stickers) =)

O.K. here is the skinny I went cruising with my nephew after hitting a couple of clubs. It seems lately I have been street racing once to often. Anyway we lined up with a couple of Si's that day both of them were blue.We burned one at a light. One time being lined up with a 5.0 and a MR-2 the stang whipped all I was second and the MR-2 3rd Si last.At the light we lined up again . This time the MR-2 was first the stang hung a right, I was second and the Si was last again. We again hit the third light this time a second Si was with us. Needless to say the new Si blew us all out the water the first run the other was last again I was second and MR-2 third. He had me by about a car length I was on his ass and the MR-2 was at about in the middle of my car. We all pulled over at a James Coney Island were all the Motorcycles hang out. The first Si that kept loosing had an intake and different exhaust. The second one had NOS. The MR-2 had a turbo. I only have a K&N filter,I also had my nephew in the car, and a babystroller in the trunk. We chilled there for a while and a-lot more cars came by then. We got run off by the cops at around 2:00a.m. I think the motorcycle guys were pissed because we raided there hang out.Ohh well it's not like they rented the place out.

I don't know much about nitros or mods for Hondas, but I had a certain incident with a Civic (which at least looked completely stock - no pointless ground effects etc.) that I choose to blame on nitros. I was on I-84 in Hartford CT when a kid in a Civic started riding my ass through traffic. I was already doing 85, so I put it in 4th and floored it. Right as I did, I heard a very loud noise coming from the Civic behind (I could hear it with the windows closed at 85 mph!) and we took off, probably hitting a top speed of 125. He was actually riding my ass through the corners at about 115 (I wasn't concentrating on the speedo) and he finally passed my when I got stuck in traffic and he decided to utilize the break-down lane (with a minivan on one side and a cement barrier on the other). Needless to say, I let him go. Anyways, he could at least keep up with me if not rail the **** out of me, and it looked stock!
