I actually got it from the woot deal - $200 for the home and the car unit seemed like an excellent deal.

rkneeshaw3.0, I actually have it in the glove compartment for the time being. Eventually I'll run the cables to the trunk and mount it with my other equipment. The included cables are quite long and should be more than ample to run from the trunk to the front. There is a little box that has the connections for power and rca cables that goes behind the stereo somewhere and that's what the remote connects to so there is no problem with the length of the cord on that either.

Overall I'm very happy with the unit, it's nice to be able to have 20gig worth of music so easily available without having to have your giant cd case sitting in the front seat next to you.

I got this thing installed last night, just ran out of solder so my headunit isn't installed yet. The omnifi controller unit fit beautifully into that spare storage tray just above the ashtray. I'll get pics and post later tonight

I gotta say, I really like this thing. It's just so badass to have your entire music collection at your fingertips. Sound quality isn't bad to my novice ears either, sounds great to me! I have to be careful though while I'm driving not to be gawking at this thing trying to pick out my music

That looks very nice, good job on the install. I wish I had that pocket in my dash so I could use it for my install, but alas I have a '98 so I don't. As for the spending too much time looking at it while driving issue, I have the same problem. That is one good thing about not having it mounted yet though. It acts just like a wired remote so that I can hold it up closer to eye level to scroll through albums while I drive....it's a little safer at least. It is great though to have 20gig of music on tap all the time.

On a bad note, I have yet to get my wireless network to recognize the car unit or the home unit. Seems to be a combination of security settings and the relatively crappy software. There is other software available that I've read about. Twonky is one that I've tried, but it takes a little more effort to set up than the simplecenter stuff. I've heard good things about it though as it is opensource so people contribute to it where as the simplecenter software is left where it is.

Hrm, I haven't had any problems. I use WEP and mac filtering and once I configed it on the control unit in the car, and left simplecenter running, it syncs. I haven't heard of Twonky, what does it offer over simplecenter?

I have a chance to get 2 sets of those from someone I know. Brand new, un-opened but I just didn't know enough about to spend the cash. He wants $200 I think.

My friend might grab a set for his 98.5 SVT.

2 for $200 sounds like a good deal to me, especially if you have someone else that's going to buy one of them. I've seen the home unit for cheap but not the car unit.
