Okay, so I've had my CSVT for a little over 2 years now and it's over the 100k mark. Lately though I've been having problems with my trunk. When I use the lever to the left of the driver seat there isn't any issue. When I use the electronic remote, the trunk lock mechanism makes this poping noise like it's trying to open roughly about four or five times. Anyone else have this problem and may be able to tell me what it is?

thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with mine. I went to WalMart and bought some small rubber pads that are used to keep furniture from sliding around on the floor and stuck them in the spot where the factory rubber ones touch the body of the car.

Here is a pics of waht I mean.

If that doesn't work somewhere there is a how to on fixing the truck lock motor itself.

That's clever....good idea. But that's what you do when the weight of the trunk won't allow it to raise out of the latch...so it just locks down on itself. An alternative is to actually move the latch part down so that the rubber seals spring the trunk back up....myself and many others chose this route.

Anyway, based on what he's saying, when using the lever it works, when using the popper it does not.

That sounds like the actual solenoid is crapping out. Best bet would likely be a junkyard...or some members part cars out via the classifieds. Replacement shouldn't be too bad, like it was said above, how-to's are floating around.
