I wanted to post here to get more attention. Anyways, I have had this problem with my trunk. When I open the trunk it doesn't open smoothly. The trunk support is wobbly/loose. When it's up, most of the time it doesn't wanna stay open and it falls back down. I have an aftermarket fiberglass spoiler on there and it's had this problem before I had the spoiler on there.

1.Should I replace the shocks/struts(whatever they're called)?

2.How the heck do you get them off? It looks very complicated.

3.About how much are they from Ford?

4. I heard they sell stronger shocks/struts for those with spoilers. Is this true?

Yes, if you want it to work properly. Looks like they are $20 each from Bill. AF8RZ-54406A10-AA $20.88

Does anyone know the answer to my questions? I hate my trunk.

Huh? What more did you want? If you want to know how to remove them get a Haines manual or a Ford CDROM from me.

Some here too.

W3rd..

Oh, and yes they make stiffer shocks for spoilers, but they (the ones you will find when searching) are for those of us with STOCK spoilers.. not 500lb aftermarket ones..

good luck with that one.

Oh.. and get a CD from Todd.

I have a Haines manual, but I didn't find anything on removing the struts. I guess no one knows to remove them. I may consider a CD, but if it covers on how to remove them.
I did try searching, but nothing.

I went outside and removed one to verify.

Simply pry it off either end. Use something to get leverage to get it off... getting it on was a snap.. by hand. (it simply pops off the "balljoint" on either end.)
