yeah, driving hard on corners = shoulder wear.

ahhh maybe if you auto cross you could pump up the psi that might help. i thought we were talking about drag racing... I run stock psi and can take corners like you wouldnt belive but i dont have stock suspension either and trap over 103 mph in the 1/4 spinning first and alittle second(soon to be faster). i need slicks and prolly run 15-20 psi in those to, i suppose you guys wouldnt?

no, we're talking about street driving. you were correcting the pressures they ran all the time, saying they would get bad tire wear. nothing about drag racing.

OMG, that's below recommended pressure. See what I mean. Recommended pressure is for STOCK tires, driving mainly in a straight line/not pushing car hard in the corners. Driving conditions, style of driving, suspension changes, and tire can all change that.

if you guys say so. im not sure where your getting this info from though, only on this forum i guess.

ask any shop over inflate your tires and you will get tire wear, same as if you put negative camber on your car might handle better but tire wear is gonna be crap. if your not at a track i dont see the point.

you run crappy tires it will handle crappy. i have falken azenis sports there amazeing.

uh huh. The key is what is over inflation. 37psi on my tires isn't over inflation. Just as you're not gonna run 32psi on drag slicks. Nice going contradicting yourself.

i just ment my stock tires are prolly better than your stock tires so if you ran my stock tires you could run more psi....its crazy. who says 37psi is what your tires are supposed to be at thats what i dont get? did you ask jeves or somethin? do what you want but if theres some secret to air pressure only you guys know i want to know.

Stock tires better than stock tires.... I don't even know how to reply to that.

I said my tires should be at 37psi. Better handling, ride, and perfect wear.

Blindly following what you hear isn't always best, especially when you go changing things up.

I run my KDW's at 36 front & 35 rear for normal driving.

They have normal tread wear and DON'T ROLL OVER on the sidewall like if I were to run them soft at say 32psi.

I inflate them above 40psi for autocross. (Final psi depends on surface, course layout, and temperature)

At the drag strip I run normal driving pressure in the front and sometimes inflate the rears to 40psi. I have dropped the fronts down to 32 or 30 and found no improvement in traction. It's not like you are going to get better weight transfer with softer tires/lower pressure. We drive the wrong wheels. You just end up getting a higher rolling resistance.

However my drag radials like 30-32psi best. Not surprising considering they are a softer compound with a softer sidewall. Then again that goes right back to the whole different tire philosophy.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
