I searched for a thread discussing this, but I couldn't find it. However, if there is one and somebody can point me to it, I'd appreciate it. Anyway, I want to remove my resonator, what can I put in to replace the gap that it leaves behind?

Another resonator so u don't sound like a ricer.

Or...straight pipe.

I have learned that straight pipe = rasp.

Unless he's talking about the intake resonator. In any case, he should search more, including the archives. Plenty of info.

NOT true....i have a staright pipe welded on and there is no rasp sound...just real deep

There is rasp and not too much difference in sound.

I have a glasspack in place of the res. and then it splits at the back and there are two mini gp's just before the tips. There's no rasp and no ricer sound but it is still a little too loud.

I REALLY doubt that, have you ever taken your car up in the higher RPM's? You may not have rasp downlow but its definitely there up high. If you had a header you would sound like angry bees.

I have a stock resonator on my svt exhaust with no rear mufflers and I even hear rasp up towards redline.

I have resonator removed my duratec, there is a slight rasp around 1850 rpm, but it is so short it cuts out at 1875

Its hard to notice unless you on a straight stretch and holding right there.

I was trying to get it to do it, but I can't even do it when I try. It just happens everyone once and a while lol
