I'm looking to install a front strut tower bar. I know it won't add much performance, but I think it looks good.

With the searching I have done, a lot of people seem to recommend the STB from OMP, but that requires drilling. The SHO strut bar doesn't require any drilling but is about $50 more. Since a STB isn't much of a performance upgrade, I don't expect to get much out of it, but will either function better than the other?

I'm assuming that the SHO bar uses the existing suspenstion bolts to fasten it to the frame, do I run the risk of snapping the bolts with the SHO bar, while the OMP bar would us it's own mounting hardware....Any suggestion here would be appreciated.

Yes you do run a great risk of snapping the bolts off the tower. That's why sho-shop sucks! Deff. get the OMP becuz even though it drills, it won't snap under a greater pressure... The OMP is worth it.

I HAVE THE OMP BAR. IT'S EASY TO INSTALL. THE DESIGN OF THE MOUNTING AREA SPREADS THE LOAD OUT. I PUT SOME CLEAR CAULKING INTO THE HOLES AND ON THE THREADS OF THE SELF TAPPING SCREWS TO HELP SEAL THE HOLES.I HAVE HAD IT FOR A LONG TIME NOW WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

Sounds like the OMP is the one for me. Thanks for the suggestion about putting caulk in the holes.
