It looks like black oil, but the oil in my car is full and clean?

Is it liquidy like oil, or heavy or greasy? Maybe try getting some to soak onto a piece of white paper if it is liquidy.

It soaked onto a paper towel. I don't see it any where near the engine, just right there under that metal thing that looks like it holds the engine?

Looks like you're due for a new motor mount. It's a hydraulic mount and it looks like there is a split in the rubber at the top & that fluid apears to be the hydraulic fluid that is usually sealed inside the mount to help minimize engine vibration. That's about the best I can tell from your picture.

There is liquid in the mount? I thought these cars used some sort of rubber? Now that you say this I have felt more engine vibrations in the steering wheel and gas. I fell it more if there are parts of the road that make the whole car go up and down or if I turn to hard. I've felt and heard of this at about the same time as I've noticed the black water like fluid.
From the looks of things I've ran a towel down under and all around trying to find a sorce back to the oil of the engine, but there is nothing. It's just right there at the motor mount. From the looks of things it must be leaking because there is some rust or old junk running down the side all along this thing a dripping down onto the ground.
How much does something like this going to set me back?

The 95-97's don't, but the 98-00's do.

I think it's less than $100. for a new mount. If you are mechanically inclined and have tools you should be able to replace it in about 1 hour or less.

Ahhh.. so it's just all one part. I was like, "How would I get that metal loop over that nub?" Now I see that I would need to buy that whole part, support the engine, screw off the 2 bolts, remove it, put in new part, tighten down bolts and I'm finished.
Am I missing any steps here?
Hey, does someone have the Ford CD they could send me? Or at least the pages on the motor mounts.
