well, it finally kicked the bucket, been expecting it with the low voltage reading i have been getting at the battery. My question is should i go ahead and get a 130 amp alternator and upgrade the the wiring between the bat and alt with some 0ga and the batt ground with some 0ga -or- get an upgraded alternator, the 200 amp alternator and do the same wiring upgrades as above. let me know what you guys think because i need to get the thhing replaced as soon as possible.

If you have a big system then get the 200 amp alternator. You "need" it. If you don't then... Don't... FYI - The 200 amp alternator will rob more HP and wear out quicker.

no i dont have a very powerful system at all. all i have is a kenwood deck. it only puts out 200 watts. still got the stock speakers. the only planned future upgrades that will put a drain on the alternator would be some 220watt speakers all the way around. and then possible a small amp and sub, maybe 400 watts, if that.

update on the alternator, got the alternator out today, was surprisingly easy, went and got it tested and it was only putting out about 12 volts if that. decided to go with a 200 amp alternator because i can get it new for the just a little more then the regular 130 amp alternator, also it has a lifetime warranty just like the 130 amp im getting the alternator shipped for around 220. if anybody else wants to get one, you can get them from here, the website lists them as 219.99, its all the way at the bottom, it is the 3g 200 amp.
