I am still in shock this just happened. I work for a government agency. I won't say the name right now. Anyway, one of the guys on my floor thought it would be funny to bring in a fake gun and "Go Postal". To me, it's kind of funny and kind of not. As everyone might know, toy guns have some sort of bright red/orange cap on the end of the barrel. Apparently he broke it off to get that "real" look. I get in at about 8am. I'm sitting at my cube and he comes rushing into my cube with a gun. I stood up and was about to jump him. Until he said started laughing and said "April Fools". Well a couple hours goes by and you can hear him doing it to alot of people. Since it is friday, not too many people are in, including management. So he came by later to talk to me about work related stuff. I told him he better be careful. Someone could mistake him for someone with a real gun. Not more than 10 minutes later I hear sirens outside. Then I hear yelling. The police are here with their guns drawn on him. They tell him to put down his gun. He's trying to tell them it's fake, but they don't want to hear it. Which is completely understandable. My cube is no more than 15 feet from where my coworker with the gun is. I hear the police tell him that if he doesn't drop it, they will shoot him. Well, he didn't and they did. After the gunshot, I could hear them run over to him. I get up and go look. The police are crowded all around him. They are telling us to get back. Many of us are telling the police it was an April Fool's joke. They looked at the gun and saw it was a fake, plastic gun. A few minutes later the paramedics arrived and rushed the guy away. Then investigators show up. They start asking questions. They asked me what I saw and heard. I pretty much told them everything I have said so far. Just as I was leaving the conference room he asked if I had anything else to add. I said
