Hey Folks,

I was wondering where one might rent a car with a manual transmission? I'd like to teach somebody how to drive one but there's no way that person's going to start with my SVT

I called around to the major rental agencies (Hertz, Enterprise, Budget, and Rent-A-Wreck), but no dice.

I live in Garden City, NY, but am willing to travel a bit for this.

TIA!

England. That is the only place I have ever driven a manual rental.

The only places I know of that rent cars with MTX's are places that rent higher end cars.... I can give you the name of one of these places in Lancaster.....but I don't know if you want to teach someone how to drive stick on a viper....and spend $400+ per day

Just try to find someone with an old beater you can borrow. I learned on a 1961 willies jeep on trails in northen PA, then I graduated to driving 1985 beat up rangers around the shop when i was 13. I don't know if I would recommend that though, because those things drove nothing like cars, I had to pretty much relearn it when I got my firt car...maybe that was because those rangers only had half of the gears working

I know the people who own it and that is the 3rd one they've had in 3 years because people keep swinging them into telephone poles and trees I'm glad to see you didn't make it number 4 Doug...then again...you are probably used to that much power from driving your csvt
