Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums General General Had to replace the coil pack for the 2nd time

96 LX V6 ATX, ate a coil pack 3-4 years ago and just blew another one on Saturday while my other car was still on jackstands after a head swap. Panic set in as the CEL flashed and the car ran rough. Code scan showed P0302 and a timing light on #2 plug wire showed no activity. New coil pack solved it, but interestingly enough the #3 plug wire was all corroded and its terminal broke with light finger pressure. I don't think it was properly seated the whole time it was installed. But that wasn't the cylinder whose coil failed in the pack.
